Trisha S.M Tannis was elected President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in May 2019. She is CEO of the Unicomer (Barbados) Group is an experienced finance professional with over 20 years of experience in financial management and corporate governance and was the first female appointed to that office in the Unicomer Caribbean and Latin America Group. She is professionally qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, an Associate of the
Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Canada and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with honours at the University of the West Indies. She has served on and chaired the retail sub-committee of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is a Director on the boards of various privately held entities. She has also served on the Legislation Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados and is the incoming chair of the Regional Risk Management Steering Committee for Unicomer Caribbean. Trisha enjoys staying abreast of international retailing standards and local market trends, so that the Barbadian market has access to cutting edge technology and retailing infrastructure.
