BCCI President Delivers Welcome Address at First 2020 Business Luncheon

Wednesday, 5 February, 2020 was a significant day as the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry held its inaugural business luncheon for the year 2020.

Entitled Envisioning 2020 : The Path Towards a New Decade, the business luncheon held at the Hilton Barbados Resort attracted over 280 professionals from the private sector, Ministers of Government and officials of their ministries as well as members of the diplomatic core. The event was sponsored by NCB Capital Markets (Barbados) Limited, Ernst & Young and the Central Bank of Barbados.

The featured speaker at this business luncheon was Dr. Kevin Greenidge – Senior Technical Advisor to the Government of Barbados. His presentation was followed by an open discussion forum with the Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, QC, MP – Prime Minister of Barbados, Mrs. Trisha Tannis – BCCI President, and the featured speaker.

On this occasion  President Tannis  in her welcome address called on the private sector to “assess the lessons learnt.” She also urged the business community to evaluate “how as the private sector we can help to chart a new path towards economic prosperity for Barbados, recognizing that the private sector is a key driving force in the country’s economic growth.”
