Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management – The University of the West Indies (SCHSBM-UWI), in collaboration with the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), has developed a continuing education programme that takes a practical training approach to the fundamentals of management essentials. The programme is targeted towards supervisors working primarily within the Retail and Distribution Sector and has been designed to address a number of developmental areas which have been identified for middle management employees across these sectors. The programme will address these core areas for improvement through employee enrolment in a series of structured workshops where practical learning is delivered by seasoned business professionals and is the first of its kind in Barbados.
The training content has been designed to address the most common deficiencies in middle management as specifically identified by retail and distribution industry practitioners and is a pioneering collaborative effort between the University of the West Indies and the Private Sector.
