CARICHAM Newsletter Volume 1 Issue 1

August 22, 2019
Dear Reader,

Welcome to the first edition of CARICHAM’s Newsletter! I am delighted to share with you the highlights of our first few months as we have consistently been strengthening the foundation and pillars of our Network.

We have been growing! Since our launch on April 1st, 2019, The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Dominican Federation of Chambers of Commerce have joined our Network. The addition of these Chambers is key to strengthening the integration of our people and trade within our region.

I am also delighted to reveal our newly designed logo that has been thoughtfully created to epitomize growth through collaboration, a vital part of our Network and the Caribbean region. My desire is that this image will be constant, visible and valuable in your mind and eyes and that of our business community as well as stakeholders across the region.

During this initial period, the Network has agreed to focus on the following pillars: Disaster Risk Reduction; Trade Facilitation, Trade Promotion and Transportation; Advocacy and Membership Value; and Knowledge Sharing and Best Practice. We have actively collaborated with various regional and international organisations, such as the United Nations Office of Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA), the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management (CDEMA), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), among others, which are highlighted in this first edition.

The progress of our Network would not be possible without the support of the management and staff of each CARICHAM Chamber and I am extremely grateful for their constant support.

Be sure to check the following highlights and events from our Chambers and I encourage you to connect with our Chambers from our contact list.

Finally, I encourage you to share widely within your network.
