The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) invites you to participate in the upcoming event, ‘Business Opportunities in Barbados – Procurement for CDB & IDB-financed Projects’. The event will take place on April 30, 2018 at the Hilton Barbados Resort, Needhams Point, St. Michael from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The purpose of the event is to inform the Private Sector about business opportunities in projects financed by the IDB and the CDB, provide information and practical tools for preparing successful bids, and promote interaction between the Project Executing Units (PEU) and the private sector. The target audience will be private sector firms working in areas of expertise of the IDB and CDB projects. The event will be open to the public with a pre-registration requirement.

During the event, IDB and CDB representatives will offer an overview of their portfolios; discuss best practices in procurement, including recommendations on where to find business opportunities, how to avoid the most common bidding pitfalls and how to write a successful bid, among other subjects. Participating Executing Units will also have a booth to facilitate direct interactions with attendees from the private sector and will showcase their project’s main procurement activities for the upcoming 18 months.
