The Barbados Teachers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited is one of the oldest established Credit Unions in Barbados.
From these humble beginnings in the 1950’s first as a buyers club then as a Savings Society and in 1967 because members wanted more that social activities the birth of the Credit Union was envisaged. Thus on 10 June that same year, with eleven hundred dollars ($1,100.00) the application was made and the Credit Union was registered. It should be noted that of the original ten members who signed the documents, six of them are still members of the Credit Union today.
Today with over 3,000 members and share capital of well over $25,000,000.00 the Barbados Teachers Cooperative Credit Union is set on a path of growth.
