Built to Last – BCCI Breakfast Discussion

Built to Last – BCCI Breakfast Discussion

March 5, 2018

The increasing incidents of disasters, both natural and manmade, and their potential damage posed to our physical infrastructure, call for attention to be paid to the establishment and /or enforcement of building codes in Barbados and the Caribbean Region by extension.

The Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry in collaboration with Arawak Cement Co. Ltd will be hosting “Built to Last”; a Breakfast Discussion where the state of play on the development and application of building codes will be examined.

You are invited to join us on  Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Sandals Resort from 9a.m. to 12p.m. where we will discuss:

  • The policy on the application of building codes in Barbados and the region;
  • Who is in charge of enforcing such policies or codes;
  • The role of the CARICOM Secretariat in improving building standards and energy efficiency across the region; and
  • The link between initiatives related to the establishment of building codes, energy efficiency and their applicability in building a resilient society
